TRISHA AND MATT
We met during the height of the pandemic- a time that was particularly trying, as Trisha was on the frontlines (literally working in the ICU) and Matt was transitioning classrooms to a virtual environment. Perhaps it was trauma bonding, or something akin, but we found a lot of comfort in each other almost immediately. Even though Trisha was at the height of residency, we would stay up hopelessly late talking about our shared love of music, food, politics, comedy- or literally anything.

We dated for almost two years before we got engaged. Trisha lived in Redlands and Matt lived in Palm Springs- both cities are roughly an hour apart, so it took a lot of work to see each other. In some ways, balancing Trisha's residency (which is harrowing enough without a pandemic occurring) and Matt's schedule as a high school band director, was 'trial by fire' for our relationship. In hindsight, we realize that this was kind of insane... but throughout it all, we were so happy and in love.
We got engaged on May 27th, 2023 in Banff, Alberta. Matt cried, Trisha cried, it was very beautiful. Trisha moved to Palm Springs the following summer, and we live very happily with our dog, Hunter. Our largest disagreement, to date, has been whether Del Taco or Taco Bell is better.
